Telecom/Broadcast/Internet Network Convergence Trials Kick Off in Shenzhen, China

China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, Shenzhen Media Group recently announced the commencement of trials for the telecom/broadcast/Internet network convergence projects initiated by China's State Council in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, with an aim to form a complete industry chain within the next three years in the region, with the industry's market value expected to reach around 300 billion RMB (US$441.2 million; US$ = 6.8 RMB). Aside from Shenzhen, the first phase of network convergence trials will also be conducted in 11 cities, including Beijing, Shanghai, Dalian, Haerbin, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Qingdao, Xiamen, Changzhutan, and Mianyang.
